Elizabeth Patricia Landon, 74, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Hospice House. Born October 29, 1931 in Savannah, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Elizabeth Foughner McMahon. She was a graduate of Cathedral School and St. Vincent’s Academy. After graduating from St. Vincent’s Mrs. Landon worked first for Levy’s Department Store and then Liberty National Bank, now known as SunTrust Bank. She traveled with her Air Force husband to various stations in the United States, Guam and Japan. Upon her return to the United States she was again employed by SunTrust Bank, for fifteen years, and then for the next twenty years worked for the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Savannah, retiring in October of 2001. For over thirty years Mrs. Landon was a member of the Nativity Choir and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Landon and her son, James G. Landon, Jr.
Surviving are cousins, Albert and Janice Lodge, Claude Lodge, Monica and Molly Lodge, Tommy and Terry Lodge, Tommy and Jimmy Foughner, Johnny and Phyllis Foughner and her lifelong friend, John Fountain and family.
Visitation: Thursday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. There will be a Vigil Service at 5:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with The Reverend Patrick O’Brien officiating.
Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery.
